Compiling two previously released EPs, "playgrounds" is a project of Greystar's that is directly inspired by the works of Aphex Twin and the larger underground IDM / Braindance scene that they have been apart of online for the past decade. This scene has been an important part of Greystar's development as a musician and led them to create a unique kind of experimental electronic music, fusing crafted synth textures with intricate drum programming and home-recorded sounds.

All of these tracks were previously featured on compilations or debuted live, designed to be immediate and singular in sound. These scattered tracks have been compiled into one cohesive release to showcase an important developmental period of Greystar's sound, spanning 2018-2023.

Following the release of this project, Greystar plans to pivot away from this sound towards a more conceptual and personal release, titled 'hopscotch'. The release date for this project is planned for 2024.
